Climbing & Swimming DCs

Climb
You move up, down, or across an incline. Each Climb action moves you 5 feet (your full climb Speed if you have one). You’re off-guard while climbing unless you have a climb Speed.
Critical Success You move up, across, or safely down 5 ft. + 5 ft.
Success You move 5 ft. in the intended direction.
Critical Failure You fall. If you started climbing, you fall to the ground.
Swim
You move through water. Each Swim action moves you 10 feet (or your swim Speed). Without a swim Speed, you must hold your breath or risk drowning.
Critical Success You move 10 ft. + 5 ft.
Success You move 5 ft. in the intended direction.
Critical Failure You make no progress and, if underwater, lose 1 round of air.

- •Ladder or knotted rope: DC 5 (Climb)
- •Rough stone wall: DC 15 (Climb)
- •Smooth wall: DC 30 (Climb)
- •Calm water: DC 10 (Swim)
- •Rough water: DC 15 (Swim)
- •Stormy water: DC 20 (Swim)
