Identifying Spells

You can attempt to identify a spell being cast or already in effect using Recall Knowledge.

Identifying a Spell Being Cast (reaction): Use the skill matching the spell’s tradition (Arcana for arcane, Nature for primal, Occultism for occult, Religion for divine). The DC is typically the caster’s DC. On success, you learn what spell is being cast.

Identifying a Spell Already in Effect: Use the relevant tradition skill with a Recall Knowledge action. The DC is usually the spell’s DC.

Tradition Skills

• •Divine → Religion
• •Occult → Occultism
• •Primal → Nature

If a spell appears on multiple traditions, you can use any of the corresponding skills.
