Minions

General

Creatures with the minion trait (such as summoned creatures, animal companions, and familiars) can’t act independently. You must spend an action to command them.

Commanding a Minion

Use the Command action (1 action) to give your minion 2 actions on your turn. Without being commanded, a minion uses no actions.

Summoned Creatures

  • Appear at the end of your turn
  • Have 2 actions per turn when commanded
  • Can’t use reactions
  • Disappear when reduced to 0 HP, when the spell ends, or when dismissed
  • If you don’t command them, they use no actions (they don’t act independently)

Animal Companions

You Command your companion using 1 action (or with special class features that grant more). The companion gains 2 actions. Mature, nimble, and savage companions gain additional benefits.

Familiars

Familiars have familiar and master abilities chosen each day. They act on your turn and can deliver touch spells, scout, or provide other utility.
