Reactions
Rulebook
Reactions are special actions you can take outside your turn in response to a specific trigger.
Key Rules
- •You get 1 reaction per round (resets at the start of your turn)
- •A reaction must be used in response to its specific trigger
- •The reaction happens after the trigger is completed, unless stated otherwise (e.g. "when" vs. "after")
- •You can’t use reactions when you’re unable to act (stunned, unconscious, etc.)
- •If a reaction interrupts an action, you resolve the reaction first, then the original action continues
Common Reactions
Reactive Strike (formerly Attack of Opportunity): Strike a creature that uses a manipulate or move action, makes a ranged attack, or leaves a square within your reach. Only some classes and creatures have this.
Shield Block: When you take damage while your shield is raised, reduce the damage by the shield’s Hardness. Both you and the shield take remaining damage.
Grab an Edge: When you fall, attempt to catch yourself on a ledge or handhold.
