Unarmed Attacks

Rulebook

Almost all characters start trained in unarmed attacks. You can Strike with your fist or another body part, using the same attack and damage calculations as weapons.

A fist deals 1d4 bludgeoning damage, has the agile, finesse, and nonlethal traits, and belongs to the brawling group.

Unarmed attacks can have weapon traits and belong to weapon groups, but they are not weapons. Effects that work with weapons don’t work with unarmed attacks unless they specifically say so.

Improvised Weapons

Attacking with something not built as a weapon (a chair, vase, etc.) is an improvised weapon — a simple weapon with a –2 item penalty to attack rolls. The GM determines damage type and traits.
