Voluntary Flaws
Rulebook
During character creation, you can choose to take voluntary flaws to customize your ability scores beyond what your ancestry provides.
How It Works
You can take two additional ability flaws to gain one additional free ability boost. These voluntary flaws must be applied to different ability scores and can’t cancel out ability boosts you gain from the same step.
This lets you build against type (e.g. a physically frail dwarf scholar) while staying balanced. The net result is –2 to two ability scores and +2 to one ability score of your choice.
You can apply voluntary flaws only during the ancestry step of character creation, and only once.
