Frequently Asked Questions

How many rules entries are included?

501 entries covering trait definitions, rules terms, and reference data from PF2e core books.

What are PF2e traits?

Traits are keywords on game elements that define their properties. For example, the Fire trait indicates fire damage, while the Concentrate trait means an action requires mental focus. The glossary defines every official trait.

Does it include reference tables?

Yes. The glossary includes commonly referenced tables like Party Treasure by Level, DCs by Level, and other GM reference data from official PF2e publications.

Are trait badges linked throughout the app?

Yes. Trait badges on items, spells, and creatures link directly to their glossary definitions, so you can check what any trait means with a single click.

What does the Press trait mean?

The Press trait means you can only use the action if you've already attacked this turn. It prevents using it as your first action. Common Press actions include certain Strike follow-ups and combat maneuvers.

Does the Manipulate trait provoke attacks of opportunity?

Yes. Manipulate actions trigger Attack of Opportunity from creatures that have that reaction. This includes drawing items, drinking potions, casting many spells, and using items in combat.

What is the Incapacitation trait?

If the target is higher level than the effect, they treat their save result as one step better (failure becomes success, etc.). This prevents save-or-die effects from trivializing boss fights.

What is the difference between mental and emotion traits?

Mental effects target the mind and don't work on mindless creatures. Emotion effects are a subset that also don't work on creatures immune to emotion. An effect can be Mental without being Emotion.

What traits trigger reactions in combat?

Manipulate triggers Attack of Opportunity. Move triggers reactions from creatures with that ability. Concentrate can trigger certain reactions. Check the glossary for full definitions.
